Trento

 

The seven Trent Codices are considered the most important body of 15th century polyphony.

The Trent Council (1545-62) was also concerned with church music and instigated a reform, propagating purity and intelligibility, rejecting profane influences.

Francesco Antonio Bonporti (1672-1749) was born here and worked from 1695 to1740 in Trent.
