Polish gymnasium

At the building of the former Polish Gymnasium there is a plaque for the Polish composer Stanisław Moniuszko (1819-1872), who was born in today Belarus.

Stanisław Moniuszko was born in 1819 at the family estate of Ubyel; it didn’t survive, but the spot is marked.

In a former school in nearby Azernï there is a museum with photos and documents, covering Moniuszko’s whole life and career.
