House and monument of August Bungert (1845-1915) from 1894. He was admired and financially supported by Elisabeth von Wied (queen of Romania and poetess 'Carmen Sylvia'). Bungert composed two Wagnerian tetralogies on Homerus: Iliad (unfinished) and Odyssee, which was performed in Desden between 1896 and 1903 and elsewhere.

This basement remained from the convent Rupertsberg, established by Hildegard. She lived here from 1151 until her death in 1179. The building was gradually demolished between 1632-1857. The only extant image of the monastery is on the Isenheimer Altar by Matthias Grünewald (now in Colmar, Frankreich).
